My son was listening to some deep-cut 90's rap and I walked into his room and started singing along and when I tell you how badly it ruined his day that his old white mom was hip to his new obscure musical discovery . . . the annoyance was spiritual.

Basil🧡 The problem is voters want the status quo. Sure they have complaints about it, but they are familiar complaints. Real change requires rethinking the complaints.

"No that would be obvious fan service, and we are only doing a shit ton of obscure fan service for total dweebs, not the mainstream normal people who just liked those characters and would have enjoyed them reuniting."

Okay, this *is* an interesting solution to tanking: Once a team is mathematicallly eliminated from the playoffs, every win gives you "draft points", most draft points is highest pick, bad teams get eliminated first so they can wrack up more points hypothetically

It isn't just "corruption," although yes that would happen. There just isn't an unlimited amount of money to spend on medical services, and as much as people claim to think there should be we would quickly find out that society is not actually willing to spend that much on it.

Another aggravating thing about Yglesias is that he seemingly has increasing trouble even remembering the things he himself has written. It was less than a year ago he was sure Democrats should be exclusively focusing on Republicans deeply unpopular Medicaid cuts!

This is largely correct but mostly because the Dothraki aren't actually that formidable of a force against the Westerosi armies outside of GRRM just saying they are (for all of the ways the books are built on "realism," Martin's military understanding is...not great.)

Bran spills the beans on Littlefinger betraying Ned, but that's not really the point. Sansa is aware he's been trying to manipulate her against Arya...because he can't help himself. This is Littlefinger's undoing, but yes the writing is TERRIBLE all the same.

It's remarkable that Yglesias just keeps talking about "immigration" as a one-stop issue when it's clear that "deportation" and "border security" are largely distinct issues in the public mind. Yet another way he's contributing to the party's weak brand!
