Has a player ever tried to run away from you to avoid a booking? This player certainly tried his best. instagram.com/reel/DQ2_5huET… #booking #refereeing #football

Such interesting feedback from Premiership ref, John Brooks on this possible DOGSO decision. We are always told RED. Foul outside the box by the keeper. As John Brooks states there is a perception in football we must go red. vm.tiktok.com/ZNRefKGyS/

93% of English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 referees have been verbally abused, compared with 51% of Dutch 🇳🇱 referees* *Yellow and Red podcast survey 21/22. Wonder what that stat is now for this season 25/26 since the introduction of the sin bin. Is it more or less verbal abuse towards referees?

Goalkeepers can play without gloves. Nothing in the LOTG that states they must wear them. Law 4 - player equipment. Have you ever seen a goalie without gloves post the 1980s🧤? #gloves #football #lotg

Always nice to watch your son play football, despite the 7-1 thrashing. Referee turned up late, so was already to go. #frosty #youthfootball #roadworks

Some interesting items on IFAB’s ABM agenda, taking place tomorrow in London. Here is the agenda. Possible sanctions for taking too long with throw-ins and goal kicks is how I’m reading point 3. #ifab #footballlaws #Football

Was introduced to the ABCD rule recently when it comes to referee positioning. In the example below, the ball is in one half, the referee in the other. We will assume all players have shifted up. B is the perfect position. Drift into C when the ball moves. More pics to follow.

Following on from the last refereeing positioning post. The ABCD rule. As the ball moves across the pitch, we are expected to move across. From zone B to C. Keep up with play. 📐45 degree angle to the player ⚽️ 20 metre distance from the player/ball Anything to add?

A great evening with Simon Parbery. He focused on the importance of team communication. A key AR takeaway. ⚽️ Fouls are subjective don’t involve yourself if it’s obvious to you and you are not credible. ⚽️ Even if you are 40 metres away you must flag for violent conduct
