His brain is late Brezhnev level mush and he is surrounded by courtiers trying to turn his geriatric ramblings into personal advantage. With Trump there is no strategic there there.

BREAKING: Mosques in Raqqa are chanting in celebration of the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF, and the people are celebrating.

A breakthrough that’ll change everything in Syria, without shooting a bullet between the two. 1. One Syrian flag - no SDF’s flag. 2. the two forces backed by the US (SDF & NSyA) are now integrated into the Syrian state, whose leadership is still designated by the US.

Compare SOHR and SNHR as monitors in Syria. One, a grossly unreliable source, is just making assertions about people wanting the SDF to deploy in Lattakia. The other issues a detailed/comprehensive report. Why on earth does the media use SOHR as a crutch for all their reporting?

Agree. The whole process is a farce where the Ukrainians as well as the Russians try to keep Trump happy while avoiding serious concessions. One of many datapoints of a declining ability of the United States to shape geopolitical outcomes outside the Western Hemisphere

As if the catastrophic war in Sudan weren't enough, South Sudan seems to be sliding toward another abyss; divisions in Tigray could spark a new war between Ethiopia & Eritrea; the conflict in E DRC threatens to become a broader regional war; and this:

Trump is an impulsive moron in policy terms, yet analysts still keep looking for some deep master strategy concealed deep within his incoherent babbling.

Almigdad reported from 60 street while it was under RSF occupation during the entire first year of the war. He stayed by choice in spite of the risk. Today he stands there as it comes under the army's control and Khartoum is declared recaptured from the RSF.

Another foreign-policy scheme ends in ignominy for the UAE, much like its efforts to help Khalifa Haftar capture Tripoli and to convince everyone to normalize ties with Bashar al-Assad

This is the trade policy equivalent of invading Iraq. An entirely unforced error that will injure everyone involved, grown out of personal obsession rather than any policy need.

One of the most insane aspects of recent US politics is how so many whose prominence was built on the Silicon Valley Venture Capital model fervently supported Trump's MAGA campaign to destroy the globalised supply chains and stable financial markets that model needed to survive

Relief International is devastated to report that Friday evening local time, the 11 of April, RSF fighters breached the external perimeter of Zamzam camp, where we were the last providers of critical health and humanitarian services.

Anyone claiming RSF’s actions in Zamzam are justified should be aware that the man who ran the main children’s program in Zamzam is now dead. Ahmed was a humanitarian and a hero. There is no excuse for what is happening now in Zamzam and what may be about to happen in El Fasher.

An IDP camp larger than most American cities has been 'obliterated' this week sending its 500,000 residents walking across the desert in search of safety. And it barely registers acknowledgement, let alone serious discussion about how to respond. Tragic. dabangasudan.org/en/all-news/ar…
