A couple of hours on Leith Hill tonight after the rain. Best pair of Redstart feeding young at nest. 2 family groups of Marsh Tit,family party of Siskin and 2 Spot Fly territories. Lots of Willow W singing. Merlin picked up Juv Chaffinch calls as Tree Sparrow and Redstart.

Decent couple of days locally. 2 Juv Hawfinch the highlight but also hunting Hobbies my first Ravens for a bit,3 tonight over the garden. Influx of red Admirals and today 3 Painted lady and a Hummingbird Hawkmoth. Several broods of Nightingale off now.

Pleased to ring one of the village swift nests including a parent. The other nests are not accessible,this brood are in a modified internal box which stops them entering the right into church and getting trapped.

At least 2 Hummingbird HM in garden tonight and 2 adult Ravens overhead. Earlier on my dog walk a juv also seen.

A couple of broods of Spotted flycatcher and 3 broods of Marsh Tit on my dog walk round Leith Hill last night.

Mynt. 4 wheatear and singles of Tree pipit and Yellow Wagtail. Trickle of Swallow through.

Sitting in garden just now and a croaking Raven up high mixed in with 7 Herring Gull and 8 late Swift.

Leith Hill. 2 Green Sandpiper flew west. 9 Marsh Tit and 2 Spotted flycatcher.

Capel. 2 Hobby hunting over village.

Dead Pygmy Shrew on pavement outside my house this morning.

Capel. Nightingale and 2 Reed warbler in bushes. Sand Martin and 2 Meadow pipits over. 65 birds ringed including 30 Blackcap. A single flock of 197 Blue and 43 Great Tit flew over one of my net rides !

A quick watch at Leith Hill Tower first thing - pretty quiet other than 14 Swallow and a single Grey Wag SW.
