Bird group: I heard a screech & the bird was HUGE & definitely not an eagle or swan. What was it? Insect group: This was in my bedroom, should I be worried?? Mushroom group: This was growing on a dead birch stump, no gills, smells like anise. Edible? Spider group:

Today is Last Friday, which means Critical Mass! Meet 7pm at the PAC (6th & F) and roll out at 7:30pm. Ride ~5 miles at a casual pace on the streets of Downtown to remind the world that we exist too. (not an official event--just old and new friends on bikes)

Anchorage city fans have gotten quiet on here (admittedly including myself). If you're looking for a way to keep up with housing, transportation, and related news, the weekly Anchorage Land Use Bulletin is a fantastic resource. Sign up or suggest content: anchoragelandusebulletin.com

If there was an airport that had 4 fatalities in a week, the FAA would be shutting it down, investigating, and instituting design controls to prevent similar incidents in the future. 4 fatalities ina week on AKDOT roads: 🥱😴 Their engineers should be held legally liable

6/ And when planners say they are "looking out for the public" beware--they are usually looking out for the members of the public who show up the most, comment the most, complain the most--and likely come from the same socio-economic background as they do.

Come join us this Wednesday to say farewell to the Downtown Protected Bike Lane! It was a temporary research project, but we'll send it off in style. 🕯️

Five people have been killed on Anchorage roads in the past 10 days. Why don't we get a full report on each of those crashes?

We loved being able to safely access more of Downtown by bike this summer! As planned, the Downtown Protected Bike Lane Pilot was removed ahead of winter, but the project team still needs to hear from you. Take the survey to tell them what you thought: anchoragepbl.com
