A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird zipping through the Salvia.

One of the distinct subspecies I was keen to see on Sipora Island was 'Barusan Monarch' a potential split from Black-naped Monarch. Fortunately it showed rather well!

A slightly different type of small copper Butterfly with its small blue dots at the base of the lower wings. It has a name within the species of (caeruleopunctata) it was found on my local heathland resting on some grasses.

This is a very precious handful!🕊️ Socorro doves are one of five #birds listed as extinct in the wild. The entire surviving population of ≈ 200 doves are all in the care of avian experts. Eight chicks hatched at Chester Zoo this summer, boosting the incredibly rare species!

Female Loew's Blue (Plebejidea loewii). In Europe it is found in just a few places in the eastern Aegean. I happen to live in one of them, so its a local species to me & a kind of replacement for the Silver-studded Blues I used to enjoy back in England when I lived there.
