One notable facet of Hidalgo’s push to pedestrianize Parisian streets is how unremarkable the spaces are. No huge capital project, redesign, mural, or fanfare. Just a metal swing gate with some No signs and an icon of kids, and you 👏 are 👏 good.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. Via Streetsblog USA usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/29/pro…

If Joe Biden can admit he was wrong, and drop out of a race for the highest office in the world for the noble greater good, Kathy Hochul can admit she was wrong and start congestion pricing for the same reason. If she does it now it won't even make a blip in the headlines.

Can someone from NYC DOT NYC Buildings Council Member Shahana Hanif office please follow up on the dangerous construction site at 290 4th Ave. that never has a temp NYC Bike Lanes and forces cyclists into a conflict zone on 4th Ave. out of an obscured merge? Someone’s going to get killed.

The lawsuits are an effort to secure sound, beneficial, legislated public policy, not political points. In contrast, Governor Kathy Hochul as defunded public transit & has nothing to offer on traffic congestion

It's also a fact that #TrafficEngineers can design streets to make the safe thing to do be the easiest thing to do. (And that's WAY more effective than PR campaigns, let alone tweeting.)

The Fourth Ave. bike lane has the potential to be one of the busiest bike routes in Brooklyn, but NYC DOT is hard at work making sure that doesn’t happen. nyc.streetsblog.org/2024/08/16/bro…
