After the hostile takeover of #freenode comes the hostile takeover of the channels. New freenode "staff" has stolen #fosdem , the third-largest channel on freenode, from us. FOSDEM has moved to Libera Chat and we urge you to move to Libera Chat or #OFTC immediately.

Based on recent events, I'm assuming that freenode must have acquired a new sponsor, a supplier of military-grade nuclear footguns.

... did freenode *actually* just blow everything away (nick & channel registrations etc) and start from scratch? It's not April 1st, right? So everyone who hasn't already left for Libera or elsewhere has had their nick, projects & channels blown away? Wow.

So the new #freenode team, not satisfied with earlier instances of foot-shooting, have acquired a military-grade foot-cannon to finish off the job and ensure that absolutely *no* feet, nor legs, remain. Fun times.
