Which network emulators/simulators do you use? I've used EVE-NG so long I've forgotten that anything outside of it exists and the list of opensource emulators just seems to have grown a lot. I'm tempted to try something else besides EVE-NG or GNS3. Do you use any alternatives?

Pretty cool that a channel viewer mentioned that they looked for MikroTik resources and GPT mentioned my YouTube channel, feels like the first time I got a shoutout by MikroTik themselves

New video added to the channel covering MikroTik configuration backups and exports for the MTCNA exam, this is part of a playlist/series I've been working on that looks to cover all exam topics. youtu.be/2J3H-QQxqgg

Continuing the MTCNA v7 Playlist where I'm going a bit over some of the cool (and maybe scary) IP services that are running on your MikroTik and how we can go about managing these services. youtu.be/6I7G4rqLq6I #MTCNA #MikroTik

Another video for the free MTCNA series on ROSv7 covering users and how to create them or add policies to what the users can do. #MikroTik #MTCNA youtu.be/YN9ciFaPIv8

I am looking to start streaming Labbed stuff again on Monday evening (today) from 9PM - 12PM BST / UTC+0, I'll also be doing some fun gaming related stuff on Friday evenings at the same schedule, more info on the video itself in the pinned comments. youtu.be/17a2np9v3_o

Thank you for everyone that tuned into the stream, it was really fun just building some stuff in EVE-NG and chatting to some of you. Looking forward to many more, though I have realizeed I realsitcally can only stream from 9PM - 11PM :D (Getting old)

Streaming again tonight at 9PM BST to continue my labbing session where we left off... maybe add the stable build of ROSv7.18 and test some more interoperability scenarios.

Going live right now on twitch and youtube and doing a lab session instead of a gaming one ;D Will be out of town tomorrow evening when I wanted to do the original stream.

Is this heresy? I am using Masquerade rules to reach the IPv6 internet from my home internet access that does not provide me with IPv6 currently. I know NAT gets a lot of flack for sustaining IPv4 for so long, but seems like it can be used for other things as well :D

When I said in my last video that EVPN is coming SOON I did not realize it would be available in only a few days later on the ROSv7.20beta2!!! #MikroTik #EVPN #MPBGP

I only have one bug logged with MikroTik and that is route reflectors not working for VPLS instances... Sooo... I wonder what they fixed in an upcoming build :D

What's new in 7.20beta5 (2025-Jul-03 17:21): *) bgp - support for Advertising IPv4 Network Layer Reachability Information (NLRI) with an IPv6 Next Hop; It seems to learn the routes, but not working 100% Probably misconfiguration on my end (or just MT still working on it)

I'm fairly happy to see MikroTik has appeared to have fixed BGP signalled VPLS with route reflectors running ROSv7 it seems to have been implemented in v7.19.3, though my lab is running the latest test build on v7.20beta6 #MikroTik

That was fast, Juniper changed their channel name on YouTube from Juniper Networks to HPE Juniper Networking. Yes Yes I know they were bought over in the start of 2024 and that it recently became for real. Curious to see how this shapes things going forward though.

I used to think the internet was a vast extension of realspace, where we shared our ideas and creativity and once in a while an into something shocking... Now... The internet feels so curated. When I open YouTube I'm flooded with AI slop I see now the dead internet theory is real

MikroTik's latest build ROSv7.21 seems to be a top contender to be the largest change log ROS has received since v7's release. I think the next build is very container centric though so not sure if it'll be everyone's cup of tea but it is a beefy change.
