My family bought Dartmoor Zoo in 2006. I wrote a book called We Bought A Zoo which was made into a film by Cameron Crowe starring Matt Damon

A rare sighting of one of the incredibly shy Dik Diks in the new mixed aviary Dartmoor Zoo . If you looked this much like dinner for something else, you’d be shy too.

As well as animal dentist Peter Kertesz and Steve from IZVG, 26 people attended the morning briefing. A necessary extraction of a broken canine from Chincha the jaguar, which cost around £7000. Every ice cream and toy bought Dartmoor Zoo pays for these sorts of unseen activities.

Dolphins off Plymouth Hoe this evening, very close to where I was swimming moments before. Clearly forming a defensive barrier against all the sharks for us. Thanks guys.

Amazing staff day out @noahs_ark_zoo this week. Lovely people and animals. Highlight was this 60 year old critter coming over for a cuddle.

As bird flu inches ever closer we’ve had to round up the free roaming peacocks Dartmoor Zoo into fine-meshed aviaries for their own protection. Mummy peahen comforts baby while they adjust to their new surroundings

How many Amur leopards in this photo? 0.5% of the total global population. It took many years, many members of staff and many generous sponsors to bring Fredo from Bellewaerde and Lena from Colchester Zoo together @dartmoorzoo And they’re getting along perfectly #reintroduction

It costs £65 an hour 24 hours a day for PAPYRUS to take 75,000 calls a year from young people in distress. I’m sponsoring Team 22, raising £22,000 by walking 22 miles on 25th May in memory of Darcy, who would have been 22. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek justgiving.com/team/diddles?u…
