Why can't the GMail app show me entire emails? And when I "view entire message" it shrinks the message to be unreadable on a phone screen?

Hyrum’s Law has pretty serious implications for hypermedia APIs. What can be done to mitigate behavior like not honoring the must ignore principle or parsing URLs? Use of good client libraries? Adding chaos to by shifting URLs and including data we know the client doesn’t need?
