I am so proud of my colleague, Dr. Yui Nishimura! Yui took on a really ambitious project about how NGOs influence government human rights behavior through the UN Universal Periodic Review. It's interesting and important research, and I can't wait for all of you to read it!

Our Rice University Political Science Rice University Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies students do such a fantastic job advocating for themselves and supporting one another. Apparently our students learn useful things about collective action and advocacy!

I am so pleased to see Norma Lara recognized for her outstanding work. She is such an amazing leader for our graduate program. She works every day to make Rice University Political Science better.

Today I got to hood Yui Nishimura. It was a joy and honor to work with her over the past six years. This is only the beginning! Yui is going to make an impact on so many students and also on our understanding of the role of the international community in improving human rights.
