About time to! We have lost £1,000's of beef with abattoir and butchers over the last 15 years. Worst industry for fraud you will ever come across! Food Crime Unit pledges tougher action on food fraud. bbc.co.uk/news/business-…

Organic doesn't mean healthy. Organic doesn't mean pesticide-free. Organic doesn't mean family farm. Organic doesn't mean local. Organic doesn't mean fresh. Organic doesn't mean better. #FactsNotFear

We know how devastating the closure of small local abattoirs can be for farmers, which is why we are urging the Government to future-proof small abattoirs to enable livestock farmers to adapt to new policy and a new economic environment post-Brexit fginsight.com/news/news/west…

Possible solution to "ghost nets" ... but I am a bit sceptical as to whether the bigger outfits will actually be bothered! Needs some kind of financial incentive to make it happen. bbc.co.uk/news/business-…

That is some calf!!! And it’s a heifer :) Sire and grandsire are both #Chapelton bulls and Granddam is a Highlander. Self calving, strong, loads of milk, no hassle ... the way we like it!

Sometimes BBC News (UK) should be praised for their honest and unbiased reporting from quality reporters such as Vicki Young and Norman Smith to name but a few. But honestly BBC, I can not understand why you continue using low level, witch-hunting reporters, specifically Laura Kuenssberg

I was quite sure Tesco would have stopped this “fake shit” by now.........If your farms are fake, what does that convey about your food. Of course it’s “exclusive to you”......another shallow claim. 🙁

A is for abattoir! "If the ability to market rare breeds and handle small orders of organic or local meat is denied through the closure of small abattoirs, we’ll lose genetic diversity and, ultimately, future breeding stock" says Tessa Tricks bit.ly/29aEMy9

Our new report on the loss of small local abattoirs is featured in The Scottish Farmer - a serious issue for many farmers in Scotland, particularly following the recent closure of Orkney's only abattoir bit.ly/2D1p15w

Amazing how well new calves get hidden ... took me ages to find this one ... mind you, yellow ear tag blends in well with the gorse! #Highlanders #nativebreeds

Quite like to see a few #Badgers around the place, but when numbers get out of hand (we are not in a #bovineTB area) then they should be reduced to a manageable level #badgercull They cause massive damage to countryside on TB, livestock, and infrastructure.
