This is the onboard “Traffic Collision Avoidance System” (TCAS) doing its work. It’s a great tool, but disables itself below certain altitudes on departure & arrival to prevent nuisance alerts. “Almost collides” is not as close as it may sound here, but closer than desired.

Haven’t seen this reported…but Delta LAX-JFK has gotten a major upgrade! DL934 and DL939 are now operated by Airbus A330-900neos, meaning this highly competitive route now has a legit DeltaOne product servicing it regularly.

N553DT delivered to MSP, will sport the new lieflat domestic DeltaOne configuration. Confirmed to be delivered as an “empty shell” and interior will be installed at a later date.

Listening to LiveATC…approach controller asked if a Gulfstream IV had an F-5 fighter to follow insight; they replied they had them on TCAS, and as per the rules in the 7110.65, the controller said “that doesn’t count.” She did everything by the book, but gave me a good laugh.

.Delta is adding two new long-haul routes from Seattle next summer: Rome and Barcelona. Guess who else just announced Seattle to Rome flights? None other than Alaska Airlines. Love me a turf war. Seattle goes from never having service to Rome to double daily next summer!
