#Periods are a natural and normal part of life. Yet, the silence and stigma around menstruation continue to deny many women and girls their basic rights and dignity. To commemorate the #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay, CHESIDS organized an in-school sensitization at

Overcomers International College in Lugbe to address critical issues around menstrual health and hygiene. With the female students, we had open discussions about: 💡Pubertal changes and menstruation 💡Menstrual Hygiene Management. 💡Debunking common myths and misconceptions

In a separate session, we engaged the male students on how to be allies and support their female peers during menstruation. We covered topics such as: 💥Understanding the menstrual cycle and related challenges 💥Avoiding stigma, shaming, or bullying of girls on their periods

💥Providing emotional support and practical assistance when needed 💥Advocating for access to menstrual products and facilities. CHESIDS is committed to breaking this silence and normalizing conversations around menstrual health.

Educating and empowering both genders can create a more just, equitable, and period-positive society. Many thanks to the administration and students of Overcomers International College for their participation and openness to this important dialogue.
