Not one more dime of public dollars out of our Arkansas public schools. No DC dollars or DeSantis defunder should dictate the dismantling of our rural districts. No to a lobbyist plan, no to a voucher scam. #arleg #arpx

#SB294 and how many private school seats are even available in the state? Most private schools in NWA are full. So at this point this will be… overwhelmingly… a bank account of taxpayer money for more affluent parents in more urban areas who already pay for private school.

BREAKING — Arkansas Senators on the Education Committee pass the largest voucher scam in the entire country. A sad day for public schools, educators, students, and families in Arkansas. The bill will be considered by the full Senate tomorrow.

The origins of the SARS-CoV-2 virus aren't clear—and may never be. But it IS clear the world must be better prepared for future pandemic threats, which includes rapidly identifying new pathogens from the animal world and improving lab security.

Since #HB1468 prevents teachers from using names (or "derivatives") other than what's on a student's birth certificate, let's look at Arkansas politicians who were generally called by nicknames that wouldn’t be allowed under the bill—

Did anyone else watch the LRSD school board? This LEARNS thing isn't adding up. The state has said repeatedly that they will pay for the teacher raises required under the new law. But Bryant, and now LRSD, look to be on the hook for millions? 1/5

It seemed like there was a bit of a lull with COVID patients but this week I have seen 3 already. All above 65, fully vaccinated w/ cold symptoms. I am prescribing #Paxlovid to those at higher risk. Most people aren’t testing anymore. #CovidIsNotOver

Arkansas already locks up more of its citizens than 46 U.S. states, but we're about to spend $470 million to lock up 3,000 more, all while children continue to go hungry and Black women continue to die in childbirth at record rates. This is our priority? Hate it.

Arkansas governor's new tax cuts will send $20 million to out-of-state shareholders, while here in AR our schools are shorted funding and our health stats+child poverty rates continue to be shameful. It's abject cruelty. We are being raided. arktimes.com/arkansas-blog/… via @arktimes

Thank God the federal government is willing to redistribute taxes from other states to help Arkansas. We could not make it without the Feds.
