Hanno Lustig Yes and no 😀 Yes: the Paul Ehrlichs of the world were completely wrong. And more than that: they were wrong for reasons they could have anticipated. Ehrlich’s book, for instance, misses basic demographic distinctions, such as a clear difference between CBRs and TFRs.
It's 2025, and in the US, if I want to transfer money from my Capital One checking account to my daughter's Capital One account, I have to use Zelle or some other third-party app. In India, transfers were instantaneous at least 10 years ago within and between banks.
