Great to visit two deanery synod meetings this evening to talk about plans to resource major missional change and growth across the Barking Episcopal Area. So encouraging to see local communities reflecting together on challenges and opportunities.

Great to preside and preach at All Saints’, Squirrels Heath this morning. Great to be with this growing congregation where 1/5th of the congregation are under 10. Also some wonderful intercessions led by two of the youngest members of the Church community.

Great to join the Mar Thoma congregation in Collier Row this afternoon. What a beautiful liturgy and such a hospitable community.

Great to join with Lynne Cullens and Barking Team colleagues as we visited Diocese of Bristol to discuss the ways they have been developing social transformation and missional change.

Great to preach at the licensing of Trevor Golding at St Elisabeth’s, Becontree. Prayers for Trevor and Lois as they join the community at St Elisabeth’s.

A real joy to host Fr Micheal Lawrence, from our link diocese of Trinidad and Tobago. Prayers for the community he serves at St Stephen’s, Princestown. How good it is to deepen our shared ministry and to reflect on our partnership in the global Church.

Great to join the community at St George’s, Hornchurch this morning. Good to see how the church is serving in the local community, especially in the many ministries shared between the Hornchurch churches.

I’m always fascinated to discover new things, especially in churches I have visited many times already.

Great to join with colleagues to celebrate the licensing of Becs Challis as a public preacher and to pray for her as she begins her work and ministry as a programme manager in the Missional Projects team.

Good to join with friends and colleagues to say farewell to Elwin and Sue and to give thanks for all they have brought to mission and ministry in Chelmsford Diocese over so many years.

Great to hear Lynne Cullens speak at the launch of the St Martin Centre for Spirituality and Social Justice. Also to receive some deep theological reflections offered by Fr Simon Cuff.

Today we welcomed the Venerable Mike Power as Archdeacon of West Ham and gave thanks for his ministry as Archdeacon of Southend.

Huge congratulations to Mike Power, who was collated and installed as Archdeacon of West Ham today. He’s a fine man and a Godly leader who will love the people of East London every bit as much as I have done. Chelmsford Diocese Mike Power
