I love OpenSCAR meetings because you can find out about all #Antarctic science. At #SCAR2024 today I have been finding out about Polar Extreme events, co producing knowledge in the science policy interface, learning about evolution of penguins and other birds, plants, mammals

And of course the latest on Antarctic plant ecophysiology. Great talks from Securing Antarctica's Environmental Future Dr Krystal Randall & Gustavo Zuniga describing how plants make their own microclimates and are reacting to the changing climate

Absolutely agree! We really need better spatial coverage for ice cores to understand how Antarctica’s climate is changing. Only 27 weather stations with 50 years (Paris has 63!) Pages 2k has 50 ice core records, but see black dots for limited spatial spread
