Stories are one of the first ways people learn. Students explored the art of storytelling through toy photography & digital comic design. We also read the book “Beautiful Oops!” and practiced having a growth mindset by making art out of mistakes! Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools

First grade artists sculpted penguins last week using Model Magic clay. We pinched, rolled and pressed the clay to change its form. How great are these?! Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools

Second grade artists used watercolor paint (from recycled markers) to paint sea turtles. We’ve been learning about these endangered animals and how we can help by using less plastic. Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools

Kindergarten artists learned about the parts of a plant. Next, they “planted” a field of flowers using their paintbrushes. These are just beautiful! Happy Spring everyone! 🌸#pleartistsinaction Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools

Gr 4 ss drew dragon eyes using analogous colors (colors found next to each other on color wheel.) Then, we sculpted dragon eye tile reliefs by adding and subtracting clay. I can’t wait to see how these will look with a splash of metallic paint! Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools

Gr 5 ss used watercolor paint and salt to create these gorgeous geodes. A geode is a hollow rock lined with an inside layer of crystals. They are formed in open areas of sedimentary & volcanic rock. It can take thousands of years for them to grow! Pleasant Lake Elementary Walled Lake Schools
