Our senior PhD students took on their Vivas, this year. Having PhDed during the pandemic as well as everything PhD and life (general) throws at you. They've been an inspiration to at least 6 undergraduates, 3 masters and several fellow PhD students. Sooooo...

Bethany is also staying on in the lab for 3 month a Post-Submission Enterprise Scholarship. So is excited to be back in her second happy place after Penshaw Monument, PCRing in M3031!

It's been a hectic week here in M3031, with a health and safety audit, a viva and master of research (MRes) deadlines. John Clark-Corrigall has been supporting the in-lab supervision this year, for both undergraduate and masters students. In his words he's been 'good value' in..

Inspiring young minds in our students and encouraging them in their development. The students nominated Jack in the NUSU The Education Awards (TEAs) where he won Taught Supervisor of the year for his use of see one, do one, teach one. Well done son!!

This year we've also added to our group; Bayan Qadri started in our group in January working on a microbiota project. In 6 months, Bayan has settled in well and is a brilliant member of the team. Welcome Bayan!

This Monday we went for a lovely meal at Khai Khai to celebrate Bethany and د. حوريه 🔗Dr. Horeyah before everyone departs home or on annual leave. Our first meal as a group since pre pandemic! Wonderful food and chat about times gone by!! #cantbuymemories
