Our own David Brown voted for the Hall of Fame for the third time in 2026. Here are his 10 picks, plus an explanation for "Why?" — along with the "Why not?" on the other 17 candidates. pitcherlist.com/breaking-down-…

Rosario, who the Nats acquired in the Gore trade, was one of the guys who jumped out at me in my pitcher projections. He had a huge pro debut in 2024, but the problem is he missed all of 2025 and will miss all of 2026, and 2024 isn't the biggest sample. substack.com/home/post/p-18…

The discussion about the HOF really has to pin down what we're trying to reward. Troy Tulowitzki just got lopped off the ballot and, at his best, he was WAY better than Jimmy Rollins ever was. And injuries wrecked his career length. So what precisely do we want to reward?

I had a friend, and I need to check up on him haven't heard from him in a bit, where if you gave him $500 million instantly, he would in fact die in a day. But what a day he would have had. Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives.

I will say this: if I wanted a thorough, in-depth analysis of how to adjust for player performance across eras, the very first person I'd turn to is Michael Kay.

One of the hidden downsides to modern pitcher usage: it puts players like Schimpf in a bad spot. In theory he was a valuable player: walks, homers and capable defense at second and third. But there just isn't roster room for a guy who should face a lefty maybe 5 times a season.

I'm actually 5'11". It's a difficult height to be truthful about. Ironically, it's over the standard threshold (180cm) in the rest of the world.

I see a lot of discussion about Spencer Jones. I liked the pick by the Yankees when they made it. He sure seems to be doing the offense part the hard way: massive strikeouts with a high BABIP and exit velos. With good defense, that's doable. But it will look ugly at times.

This is apparently the time of year for everyone to be releasing their baseball ranking lists, and a recurring theme I'm seeing is everyone weighting the most recent season far more than is likely justified.
