2022 commemorates the 100 anniversary of Rihani’s trip to Arabia. He left New York early 1922, visited Egypt, Hijaz, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait & Iraq, then home to Freike Lebanon in April 1923. His trip resulted in writing & publishing several Arabic & English books.

Ameen’s Father, Fares, established himself as a merchant in Manhattan in 1889. He needed an assistant who could read/write English. Ameen was pulled out of school & became chief clerk & bookkeeper of the business. During these years Ameen read American & European writers.
