So many Meadow Browns and Ringlets at the Lyde Road end of the Riverside Walk this morning - maybe the butterflies are just late this year. Peacock and Red Admiral as well, 3 Marbled Whites, and a very distant Whitethroat Butterfly Conservation 🦋 BC Somerset & Bristol Somerset Wildlife Trust Dorset Wildlife Trust

More from the wonderful Woodland Trust🌳 Duncliffe Wood meadows. Full of butterflies, mostly Meadow Browns & Ringlets, but also many camera-shy Marbled Whites. Also a good few Large Skippers, and my first Gatekeeper of the season Butterfly Conservation 🦋 BC Dorset 🦋 Dorset Wildlife Trust

Out of nowhere, some Ragwort has suddenly reappeared on the Pittards end of the Riverside Walk. Loads up the Lyde Road end of course, but this is the only plant this end. Hopefully it might be host to some Cinnabar caterpillars soon 🤞🤞 Somerset Wildlife Trust BC Somerset & Bristol Dorset Wildlife Trust

Sadly, this photo, while it is indeed a brilliant piece of photography by Evan Vucci, as David Altizer says in his thread, it will probably also get Trump elected.

Using ext tube for macro also makes for fun abstract bokeh landscapes it seems. Dappled light in the woods, Riverside Walk this afternoon. Somerset Wildlife Trust Love Yeovil #bokeh #twitterlandscapephotography #TwitterNaturePhotography

Anyone out there also using Threads? Thought I'd give it a try, if you happen to be passing... Oh, Longlegged Fly, Dolichopus ungulatus, on a reed, by the way #Threads #Instagram #TwitterNaturePhotography #TwitterNatureCommunity

Too hot to walk dogs, so pottered with the 70-300 + 12mm tube macro setup. Think these are European Dark Bee, Sweat Bee, Dark-palped Melinda and Backswimmer, but happy to be corrected! Somerset Wildlife Trust Dorset Wildlife Trust Tristan Bantock Bumblebee Conservation Trust

Tiny Gossamer Hoverfly, Baccha elongata, on Enchanter's Nightshade flower, Ninesprings earlier. Trying to get a decent photo of the flower, tricky as it's also tiny and only grows in shade, but I spotted the Baccha when reviewing the photos Somerset Wildlife Trust Tristan Bantock Steven Falk
