The great thing about having teachers with different talents, passions, and even personalities is that they all reach students that someone may not be able to reach. Celebrate the greatness every educator brings!

These are trying times for educational celebrities. If Twitter goes down, then they’ll have to go back to teaching. They would appreciate any pointers on how to give instruction.

Teaching should never be capable of inducing a breakdown. It should be fun, joyous, relaxed. No one should have to dread going into teach. The government, OFSTED, toxic schools, mad policies, make it this way; The adults.

I feel like schools need to be more robust in not being the cure-all for all societal challenges. Expectations seem to have risen way beyond education, what we all have trained in.We can be a hub, we can signpost to other agencies, we can support, but we can't fix everything.

Teachers shouldn't have to cover classes, give up planning time, work 20 extra hours a week, take on extra tasks, etc. just to be considered an effective teacher or all in. Teachers give above and beyond already without it becoming the expectation. It's why so many are burned out

Physical Ed., Arts, & other classes don't need literacy standards to be valued. These classes have their own standards and children need to run, create, interact, & be active in these classes, which develop divergent learning. They will also be more effective in other classes.

In the past 4 decades, most US schools use the majority of their time and resources on kids who misbehave and essentially ignore the kids who are trying to do the right thing. What many refuse to believe is; when a school takes on too much, they will fail…miserably.

Many American schools need to pivot to design more systems for high achieving kids. Instead, most schools move at the pace of their lowest achieving kids. The system is designed to take the worst performing kids and make sure they are okay.
