Purified water pipeline installation is progressing in #Lakeside. This has resulted in reduced travel lanes along Mapleview Street. Traffic control at the intersection of Mapleview and Ashwood Streets is expected through the end of the week.

UPDATE: The single lane closure on the Channel Rd. bridge in #Lakeside remains in effect following purified water pipeline installation. This right westbound lane is expected to reopen within the next couple of weeks once the installation of a new handrail is complete.

RIGHT NOW: Traffic barriers are being removed on the Channel Road bridge near #Lakeside Avenue. The right lane in the westbound direction will be reopened to traffic later today. This comes following the installation of purified water pipeline and a new handrail. #EastCountyAWP

REMINDER: Expect temporary traffic control with lane closures next to El Capitan High School in #Lakeside. We expect to be in this area for the next few weeks for purified water pipeline installation. Please plan for additional traveling time on Mapleview & Ashwood Streets.

HEADS UP: Expect a lane closure on Mast Blvd in the eastbound direction near San Remo Road in #Santee due to purified water pipeline construction. The left turn onto San Remo will also be closed to traffic over the next two weeks, Mon-Fri from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. #EastCountyAWP

Check out these new photos of our team working along Riverside Dr in #Lakeside. We will be using a trenchless construction method called jack & bore to install purified water pipeline in this area. Expect lane closures and construction noise for the next couple of weeks.

The #EastCountyAWP Program has started to receive Reverse Osmosis (RO) equipment at the future AWP process building that’s currently under construction. RO is a critical treatment process involved in advanced recycled water treatment that removes impurities from recycled water.

Check out these new photos of the future dechlor facility near #LakeJennings. Work started last month on underground piping & foundation prep. The dechlor building removes chlorine from the AWP water before pumping it into the lake.

UPDATE: Pipeline construction is in full swing just west of State Route 67 with our team working south of the Channel Road Bridge in #Lakeside. This purified water pipeline work will continue onto Mapleview Street in the weeks to come. #EastCountyAWP

Crews are prepping Fanita Parkway for curb installation (pictured). Curb work is scheduled for early next week with sidewalk installation to follow. Construction is expected to wrap up on this stretch of road by the end of this month. #EastCountyAWP

Purified water delivery is expected to begin in late 2026.💧Purified water will be delivered to customers in Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Helix Water District, Lakeside Water District service areas & the northern portion of the Otay Water District service area.
