Quiero agradecer la confianza del Presidente Electo, Gabriel Boric. Asumo el cargo de ministra Medio Ambiente a trabajar por un gobierno que enfrenta la crisis climática: crisis hídrica, implementar ley CC, SBAP y trabajar x zonas de sacrificio serán algunas de las prioridades🌱

Mi mamá tuvo cinco hijos (todos varones), y pudo realizar su doctorado hasta que crecimos. Ella era profesora de tiempo completo, y tuvo que luchar contra muchos estereotipos y "techos de cristal". Diariamente fui testigo de sus luchas contra las estructuras de la academia.

Ella se fue a España a hacer su doctorado en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid ya habiendo criado 5 hijos. El día que más orgullo he sentido en mi vida ha sido en su defensa de tesis doctoral (summa cum laude). Por ella uso mis apellidos como Pacheco-Vega con guioncito.

La discusión sobre cómo la academia es hostil a las mujeres, en particular aquellas que eligen ser madres, siempre me toca de manera particular por lo que ví creciendo en mi entorno, pero también por mis estudiantes y tesistas. Por eso siempre ofrezco todo el apoyo posible.

Y por supuesto, otro de mis momentos de máximo orgullo: cuando una de mis estudiantes de doctorado defendió su tesis con sus tres hijos adolescentes a su lado. Mi mamá estuvo en la defensa también (de mi lado, virtual). Los dos lloramos cuando le dieron la mención honorífica.

Loved experimenting with facilitating a pro-action cafe at the NEWAVE summer school and bringing in techniques I’ve worked with from #artofhosting and at Waterlution to change the way we present our research - how to do it in a “different way” from a conference model!

After the last round of the ESRs'projects pro-action café, we are now moving to a #roleplay: our researchers are grouping to form a Scientific Committee and come up with a brand new programme for a #water #governance #conference. Which themes will emerge from our play?!

❓What are some of the key water questions and issues within water governance? We asked our Early Stage Researchers to brain storm on this idea. We then clustered their answers in themes and ask each of the ESR to link their research with 2 categories
