the hope of making a dent in the universe by being able to push through and consistently do the things I need to do, year after year, all while having meaningful relationships with God and the people I care deeply about. that’s my definition of joy.

and when you land those interviews, don’t forget to send a thank you note afterwards. it helps. a sample thank you note & one I personally sent that helped in landing my current role.

Actions can be pretentious sometimes

get people to question how the dots are connected people join the dots the same way that everyone else does & always has done, this preserves the status quo but one day, someone comes along & connects the dots in a new way, which leads to a different understanding of the world

there are 3 types of people who can guide your job search if you’re just getting started on LinkedIn people who are in/worked the roles you want people currently working at companies you’re interested in people hiring for roles you’re interested in connect & engage with them

the best networking you can do is having genuine friends care about people regardless of their status or what you you can get in return every conversation you have is like planting a seed that could turn into something at any point in life "networking" just feels contrived

if you are not selfish about your life, you are going to be unsatisfied.

in arguments, the natural thing is to restate your point of view until the other person sees the issue the way you do. the more interesting thing to do is to ask, “why at heart, do we disagree? being curious about your friend’s experience is more important than being right.

your life might not change completely in just three months of concentrated effort but you will definitely be better than you were three months before. it’s not about what happens after three months, it’s about becoming the type of person that doesn’t give up regardless.

if you focus on meaningful work and meaningful relationships, at some point, money becomes an incidental consequence of that.

most days, we’d rather be wrong with the crowd than be right by ourselves.
