At Askham Bryan College we are reducing the embodied carbon in this teaching block by specifying a glulam frame instead of steel. The clay blocks infilling between the frames contain recycled material and reduce the use of cement in this sustainable building. The HACS Group Aspect 4 Limited

At Askham Bryan College college we are building with bricks from York Handmade bricks, manufactured 14 miles from site to reduce delivery miles. Natural lime mortar allows the bricks to be reused at the end of the building's life. All backed by Porotherm UK clay blocks to reduce cement.
