Honored among 299 (10.6%) awardees of Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene's 2024 Early Career Grant (£5k) to study antihelminthic efficacy against schistosomiasis & helminthiasis among children in Ghana. Grateful to supervisor ET Donkoh at the Centre for Research in Applied Biology and PI for Screen-and-Treat Research Group


Following our community entry on February 21, 2025, I led a team from Centre for Research in Applied Biology to embark on a 5-hour journey from Sunyani to the Banda District to commence the study; investigating the efficacy of anthelminthic drugs among children in Ghana. Day1 (Research on investigating the efficacy of anthelmintic drugs). I led a team Centre for Research in Applied Biology to our first community in Ghana. We obtained consent and demonstrated sample collection procedure to parents. We toured the community's water source, use for domestic and fishing.Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene


Day 2 on our study (investigating the efficacy of antihelminthic drugs among children) Dedicating 5 to 10hrs analyzing collected samples in the lab. and identifying various types of parasites: S. mansoni &haematobium, Ascaris Lumbicoids, T.T, and hookworm was fascinating Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene
