Today we learned how to go owling and all about great horned owl adaptations - including regurgitating pellets. We got our hands on some and found lots of rodents and a bigger mystery animal inside! We hope Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation can help us identify the mystery bones during our Zoom next week!

#Gratitude: Most years, my sisters & I exchange gifts at #Christmas. But we all said we didn't need anything, so we decided to give to charities that mean something to us. The causes ranged, with mine being Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation & AARCS - Rescue 🐾. Thanks for all you do! #BetterTheWorld

Many migratory birds use light for navigation and can accidentally fly into lit up skyscrapers by mistake. Join us tomorrow to learn more as we're joined by Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation for a social media take over! 2/2

Seagulls always live by the sea, right? Wrong! The gulls that live in our towns and cities have probably never seen the ocean, relying instead on rivers, lakes and even human food waste for food. Learn more about #urbanwildlife tomorrow when we're joined by Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation!

It's #WildlifeWednesday. We had a baby shorebird brought in needing help. After contacting Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, we found out that he is an American avocet & will look like the picture below when he's full grown! If you find a wild animal in distress you can call us or contact AIWC.
