Another STEAM Community Studio project a group of students will be working on are vertical gardens! This project educates on food security concerns and increases student’s confidence with growing their own food.

Via World Health Organization (WHO). Imagine if we reconsidered our infrastructure design, speed limits, EVERYTHING, to save them.

The Dutch invest €500M—€30 per capita—per year in cycling. What is the return? Over 1,000 km and 60 hours of cycling per capita per year; preventing 6,500 deaths and €19B in healthcare. Don’t ask whether you can afford to invest in cycling. Ask whether you can afford not to.

This kind of small-scale retail, cafe/restaurant or service should be legal on every corner in cities/suburbs. A basic part of walkable communities. They aren’t easy financially, but at least they should be legal. In plans I’m working on, I’m calling them “corner convenience.”
