Coming up next week is our AENEAS H2020 all-hands meeting! Excited to see so many of our 28 European and global partners joining us in The University of Manchester. More than 2/3 into the project, our work is slowly shaping into a coherent design study for the EU SKA_telescope regional center.

The AENEAS H2020 all-hands meeting starts tomorrow with a summary of project activities, talks by SKA_telescope regional center (SRC) activities in Canada, Asia-Pacific and South Africa and a workshop on defining key aspects of the SRCs design. Stay tuned for updates #aeneasAHM

A full house here The University of Manchester for the AENEAS H2020 design project for an SKA_telescope European regional centre this morning

Canada is eager to be part of SKA_telescope regional center activities via CIRADA but it's key to keep the research infrastructure wavelength agnostic says Severin Gaudet @eaneas2020 #aeneasAHM

Australia has a long history of investment in radio astronomy. They hold 30PB of data in their data centers and naturally they plan to adopt a bottom up approach to the SKA_telescope regional center tapping on existing expertise built over the years

The different work packages of the AENEAS H2020 project are coming together this afternoon to refine the design requirements for a European SKA_telescope regional centre in collaboration with colleagues from other regions around the world and other large science facilities

heated and really constructive discussion at the AENEAS H2020 all-hands meeting on various aspects of user requirements and how they translate to design specifications and governance model for the European SKA_telescope regional center. #aeneasAHM

Our dynamic and committed AENEAS H2020 team in The University of Manchester . It's great to see so many people coming from different corners of the world joined in the common goal to ensure #openaccess to SKA_telescope data and enable transformational science

there are the SKA_telescope data challenges that seek to lets astronomers play with simulated SKA data to better identify there needs. And there are the challenges for AENEAS H2020 and other regional centers ..says Rosie Bolton from the SKA office. #aeneasAHM

the newly setup SKA_telescope SRC steering committee should have representation from national e-infrastructure entities because the global network of SKA regional centers will ultimately reply on them..Richard Hughes-Jones AENEAS H2020 #aeneasAHM

The AENEAS H2020 meeting was held in the new Bell-Burnell theatre in the Schuster Building (Physics) at The University of Manchester. I was fortunate to hear here speak in Sydney last year. Interesting, inspiring with a few laughs along the way. Seems apt to send this on #InternationalWomensDay.

here's Anna Scaife - our AENEAS H2020 lead on computing requirements for the SKA_telescope European regional center. Next to hosting our all-hands meeting she always finds times to talk about science to wide audiences.

the AENEAS H2020 all-hands meeting wrapped up yesterday after 3 days of engaging discussions. The team is spreading again but with a clear focus on how to tackle the final stages of the SKA_telescope RC design study. Thanks to Anna Scaife and local team for hosting us!

Presentations from our AENEAS H2020 all-hand meeting are now available online at aeneas2020.eu/project-presen… Stay tuned as key reports on the network architecture and costing for the EU SKA_telescope regional center and integration with IVOA standards come out soon

the #SKAtreaty is a significant milestone for the SKA_telescope. It's a recognition by leaders and governments that progress, scientific and otherwise benefits from extensive cooperation. Watch the livestream from the ceremony starting at 11am EST at cst-ciccarelli.it/stream/

second from the left is our AENEAS H2020 coordinator&head of the SKA NL office Michiel van Haarlem. As we celebrate this milestone for SKA_telescope, we are hopeful that the development of the global network of regional centers will enjoy such and higher levels of international cooperation
