Learning curve: I stopped entertaining calls from spouses and parents of my team members. I always pick up in case there is an emergency but if they start w stories to ask favours on their spouse/child’s behalf- either for unplanned leave or advance cash or help them resolve

If we get ‘reference calls’ to hire someone before interview round, we just have a rule to pass. It has worked. The more influential the reference call, the faster we reject. Candidates - Don’t do this. It doesn’t work with Millennials and GenZ. Compete and qualify.

Zyada se zyada you ll tweet something problematic and get cancelled or schooled. It’s fine, we learn seeing things differently. And cancel phase lasts for 2 days at max, sometimes it gets you more traction. Cost benefit wise - it’s a must activity.
