#Books have always played such an important role in my life. They entertain my imagination and expand my thinking. They give me a comfortable place to escape to when the world isn’t all that great. They make me see more, know more, feel more. They fill my life. #bookworm

So a few agencies (independently from one another) have informed me recently that they are offering their clients a January discount and asked whether I am okay with this. I am not okay with this!! My plumber didn’t give me a January discount, nor did my accountant. 🙄

This also goes for any excuses such as “But what we’ve agreed on with the client is this…”. I always reply with “That is your agreement with that client that I was not consulted on. I have no say in how you conduct your business. I do, however, decide on how to conduct mine.”

One of the things that the pandemic has changed in ways of working is that people tend to send work emails at any time of day (or night) and seem to expect a reply straight away. I now regularly receive emails from PMs on weekends or before midnight. Is work-life balance dead?
