This mornings active regions (some of them) on the Sun. Daystar Filters Quantum .5 angstrom Ha filter, AP Stowaway refractor. Some other odds and ends. The Sun is really active right now and gorgeous if you have a solar scope!

I've curated my personal music collection for years. Hundreds of CD's ripped and brought into iTunes. Now, I've dipped my toe into Apple Music. I kinda like it, I do like the suggested music, and I've added a lot of stuff to my playlists that I never had access to before.

Do you know the history of the Vulkan API? Take a look at how LunarG CEO Karen Ghavam tells the story from the Khronos Birds of a Feather session: vist.ly/3gbxj

The Sun is really active right now. If you have a solar rig, you should get it out. I’m doing some white light and ha this morning.

I’m pretty impressed with the ARM/Snapdragon laptop I used for this project. I think this may be the beginning of things to come. My Apple Silicon Laptop is amazing too. ARM isn’t just for low power embedded devices anymore.

This mornings Sun in Ha (Hydrogen) light. Daystar Filters Quantum PE 0.5A, AstroPhysics Stowaway. From my backyard. Yep, the Sun is amazing and dynamic, and changes rapidly.

Well, THIS was a find this last weekend cleaning up. Some tokens from the 1980's that highlight that my two biggest passions (professionally) have been pretty consistent for very long time. I did write two articles for Dr. Dobb's Journal (graphics topics) sometime in the early

Saturday's Sun. I had the Sky-Watcher USA Esprit 100 out already, and I popped on the PowerMate 2X and the Daystar Filters Quantum. I have a front mounted ERF which helps a great deal I think, but the focal ratio was f/11, which is WAY below spec for the Quantum. The Quantum

I wrote up a little mini-review for a nice little piece of kit from Sky-Watcher USA . It's not a bad Christmas Scope recommendation either. eveningshow.com/2024/09/a-virt…

Ah, a new macOS update. Just before a major build week. Guess, I’d better grab it now and see if there’s going to be some issues to work out.

Well, this was going on tonight. I was doing some deep sky work, when it cleared some trees, so I grabbed a quick photo. I was using an Ha filter on nebula. Ha is not quite immune to Moonlight as you can see here, as the Moon does show up! :-)

I saw someone post they were getting "tired of coding". WTF?! Like getting tired of eating. I might eventually get tired of eating mashed potatoes all the time, but I'm not going to get tired of eating. Same thing for code. Find something more interesting or new to work on, or
