Pick a dry spot in the yard to let the drill wings down & begin the inspection. 20 days until that bugger goes to work!

Trucks need a last minute check up & checkoff too. 19 days until the drill gets to the early field.

We get 105-120 days to grow a crop.June 20 sun gives us the max photosynthetic potential. We lose each day after. Plant a crop that creates the maximum solar panel to capture that sunlight. Working back that’s in 18 days!

One for our ranchers- seed an early stand of mixed grain 17 days from now & take it off as early green feed then get some regrowth for a bit of grazing end of season.

The dam is almost full. Frost is gone. Soil temps rise each day. Seeding is 16 days away.

Cereal seed can be treated in temps from -3° & higher & stored for 6 months with no germination effects. Reducing bottlenecks is called management in 15 days when you start seeding

Okay..a setback on the soil temperature climb today …but a fortnight from now burn-off & drills roll. Fortnight sounds so … English!

Rigs are rolling to the south of us ( as usual). Nothing unlucky being 13 days from growing a crop.

Just 12 days left to get all the inputs & supplies to the yard ready to go !!

Drills need their final touches. Tractor cab needs a vac. 11 days until wheels come down.
