Good luck to all those taking part in the Army Benevolent Fund's #cateranyomp this weekend, particularly British Army Sergeant Major Carney - I hope the 'prosecco preparation' at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on Thursday helped with the marginal gains!

Yesterday was the Army Benevolent Fund ‘s Yorkshire Big Curry Lunch. It was a fantastic event, raising funds for our service men and women, veterans and their families. It’s a cause close to my heart and I’m glad Slater and Gordon UK can support. Thanks for a fab day Lt Col Barney Barnbrook and Amy Simeon

Great to visit Tom and Craig at Roflow Environmental Engineering this morning. Their race night a Newcastle Racecourse raised a whopping £15k for Army Benevolent Fund and SSAFA. 🙏

And now for some mental escapism - watching Taken..... It doesn't require much brain power, just what I need after a manic few weeks at work!

To the two 'older' British couples who queue-jumped the bus from Barbati to Kassopei - shame on you! Because of your selfishness and lack of a moral compass, my family couldn't all get on the bus - after waiting for over an hour! 🤬

I leave Corfu tomorrow, but the sad thing is that this is probably the first country I have been to where I have felt embarrassed by being unable to speak at least a few words of native language. For the last ten days I have been trying to remember to say ευχαριστώ. Fail!

Not what I was expecting to find on the Disney Channel. Definitely a film of two halves...

After the last movie (Fresh), I watched the original Karate Kid. Mister Miyagi gives some fantastic life lessons.

We had a great day at Thirsk Racecourse for the Army Benevolent Fund Handicap Stakes. Huge thanks to the Racecourse, and to the soldiers from 21 Engineer Regiment that helped us to collect.

Home for the next couple of weeks - the Defence Academy, substituting my Army Benevolent Fund job for my British Army 🇬🇧 job temporarily. Facilitating Command and Leadership journeys, amongst other things, for Reserve OF4s from the UK and overseas.

It comes to something when the highlight of my Friday evening is ironing. Defence is certainly getting good value out of me during these two weeks!

This was my tipple last night, courtesy of my good friend Vivien (details withheld!) from the French Special Forces! I didn't drink the whole bottle - it was shared with my ACSC syndicate.

A great day at Catterick Racecourse yesterday for the Army Benevolent Fund Handicap Stakes, supported fantastically by Hugh James and 6 Regiment RLC . Great to host BIG Phil Campion and the Pulse Fitness team. Huge thanks to all involved!

A great trip to Royal Hospital Chelsea this evening to catch up with these two fantastic In-Pensioners, Peter and Terry. It is always an absolute privilege to stand (or drink!) in the shadows of giants.
