Met with 8th grade families about the high school admissions process last night. Another year, same feelings expressed by everyone in the room. Confusion and stress.

We have to give this ridiculous HS admissions test to CPS - Chicago Public Schools 8th graders on Oct. 26th. It is timed. We don't know what standards are assessed. People with money are paying for test prep classes. It will determine S's opportunities. Madness.

In 10 days CPS - Chicago Public Schools 8th graders will take the high school admissions exam. CPS has forced students to take some pretty terrible tests over the years. This one has to be the worst.

Take special care of Chicago 8th graders today. They need our love and support today as they take a particularly cruel high stakes test for high school admissions.

8th-grade CPS - Chicago Public Schools families are receiving emails today with their student's HS admissions test results. Consistent with the entire CPS HS admissions process, the email is confusing and leaves families with more questions than answers.
