We should not pigeon hole people into being older. All people with MS should be treated as a person with MS regardless of age. MS services are not geared up for an ageing population. @GavinGiovannoni #MSTConference2024

Why are researchers looking at this? A molecule inside cells (called SEH1) switches on genes to kick-start the production of myelin. Researchers think that when the survivin protein binds to SEH1, it could stop cells making myelin. mssoc.uk/3vu0rLS #StopMS

It’s been 10yrs since I had breast cancer & a double mastectomy.Since then I’ve learnt to love my scars. But that has taken time. 2day on BBC Morning Live I’m doing a piece about body acceptance after cancer treatment. I hope it gives inspiration to anyone on the cancer journey💛

There's still poor awareness of early #MS symptoms in doctors & public. So Dr Jaime Imitola Jaime Imitola MD., FAAN has created VISIBL-MS, a sign showing early MS signs. Aimed too at Hispanic pop to tackle health literacy. Early awareness = early diagnosis/treatment. realtalkms.com/358

Let’s start with the big theme aging with ms. It starts already with 30, the biological age is higher as the chronological age. Important not just for research and doctors, most important for PwMS! #ECTRIMS2024 #ms

Myelin repair Thrilled to see Cambridge University doing a trial to see if metformin & clemastine can repair myelin, the protective coating around nerve fibres, damaged in ppl with MS. Funded by MS Society UK. Such an unmet need. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
