Great first presentation at #GISRUK2023 Chris! Nice to hear the ideas from the GISRUK massive about potential improvements and new datasets. I'm sure you'll be back in future years to share new resuls and methods too. Hope the Active Travel England hook-up comes good too.

It has been great to see how Geospatial Systems CDT teams' creative analysis, methodology and thinking around urban environments translated into insight. And to see how our #opensource tooling #b6 can be utilised.

Kicking off day 1 of our Annual Assembly with a review of student and CDT activities over the past 12 months.

That's a wrap, great event brilliantly organised by our Cohort 3 students, Chris, Phil & Rachel. In just 9 days we start with Cohort 5!

There are still a large number of barriers (i.e. on almost every crossing over the A1) that discriminate against anyone with a disability, or riding a cargo bike. All cycle infrastructure should be designed inclusively. My PhD student Chris mapped barriers in his MRes.

I'm really lucky to work with such talented students in our Geospatial Systems CDT and share their knowledge with Geospatial Newcastle undergraduates. The notebook uses #pythonprogramming and #OpenStreetMap data to identify neighbourhoods and explore the impact of modal filters on the walking, cycling, and car networks in them. Can be run anywhere in the world! Cutting-edge skills for real world problems for our graduates! 2/2
