I-80 remains closed from Applegate to CA/NV Stateline. Snow's still falling. Route still caked with ice. Snowplows working double time, but as you can see moments ago one was barely made a dent in the snow-covered roadway in Kingvale. Quickmap.dot.ca.gov has latest road info.

03.05 | #MtnUpdate : Good morning! We received 21' the last 24hrs with high winds that will impact operations. Today we'll see very heavy snowfall in the morning with snow showers into the evening. We anticipate delays and will do our best to open terrain today. Updates to follow.

Another major winter storm is expected to bring additional rounds of significant snow/travel headaches back to the Sierra and potentially into western Nevada Sat-Mon.

Bottom line: If you travel into the Sierra this weekend you may not get back out for a while. #CAwx #NVwx
