My pharmacy is so good. They always see me and have my meds out before I reach the counter and an old lady was just in there saying about her physical chronic pain and they said, 'oh dear that is so painful'. It makes such a difference!

I wish my discipline of clinical psychology would stop politicking around the Cass report and start getting involved in the misuse of behaviourism in the NHS and our welfare system, from StopSIM to Stop Oxevision, punitive DBT protocols and welfare conditionality.

Truth. It's very often both/and and visible as such with a proper developmental assessment. Then its nearly always obvious what is ADHD, what is trauma, and what could genuinely be both.

Poor DBT has exactly the logic of ABA as many survivors have pointed out.

The fact this represent the design of a totalitarian state formed to quell the voices of political dissidents is not incidental...

Would we ever think good parenting is based on the withdrawal of warmth unless a child does exactly what we want and nothing else? No. We would think that brutal. We would literally call that emotional abuse. #HumanNotPD

The goal is always supposed to be to create a context, externally and internally, where self-harm is less necessary, not to robotically obsess on that at a goal to such an extent that the patient's beingness outside that is negated....

I dont mind behaviourism IF its humane and shapes behaviours to the PATIENT'S freely decided goals. In that case I will, of course, use its principles. We all do if we're aware of it or not. However behaviourism for the state's goals be that with poor DBT or the DWP is criminal.

Why do activities for autistic people have to be framed as 'therapy'?

I was told by an HTT manager who I didn’t even have an appointment with who was pleasant otherwise that I should forgive me dad for his neglect when he’s never said sorry. She didn’t even know me. When I said no she said he might have had his own issues. I said but I was a child!
