Here's a little piece I wrote about Gene Tierney making films in the UK - featuring Clark Gable and Noel Coward! The fabulous season programmed by Aga Baranowska continues BFI Southbank.

I can thoroughly recommend this new play. Adapted from the novel by Sam Selvon, co-writer of Pressure, Horace Ové's feature recently restored by BFI National Archive. Stunning performances and some great physical theatre. Dynamic and powerful.

How is it possible that I only just discovered this blue plaque to Will Hay a few minutes from my mum's house? He lived there 1927-34 so maybe bought it new. Visited yesterday and took in the house where Josephine Tey spent her final years, overlooking Streatham Common.
