This is a really great example of discipline. Everyone that was approached held the line at no interviews. One made very clear that she would need to speak to the media liaison. Very clear & to the point.

One big reason disability makes many uncomfortable is because we rely on others for help. We remind them that we need others to survive; that we can’t just individualize ourselves in every situation. Our country is so cut off from community and we remind them of the need for it.

And I try to find ways for others to stay safer if they do have to take theirs off to eat at work, etc

I don’t think asking people to mask outside is “perfection” b/c that’s factually how COVID spreads

Removing a mask outside significantly increases your risk of COVID when we don’t also have gov systemic supports protecting us

The discomfort you feel is “personal responsibility”

I mask outside b/c you can get COVID outside with the newer variants

AND I want to make outside air safer for people who have to briefly take off their mask (or those who can’t wear one for medical reasons)

I’m not 1 of those people so I mask all the time outside of my home

I’m looking at some COVID conscious folks sideways (esp the ones with more money) because there’s a difference using your time, energy, & resources so *everyone* can be safe vs wasting time so you personally or people like you can “safely” do whatever you were doing in 2019
