"Can it be doubted whether one dies a true confessor who does not await persecution if it is necessary? For Cyprian asserts: 'If a bishop is afraid, salvation is driven from him.'" - Bp. John of Salisbury

I propose accordingly to abolish all investment grants and all assistance to development areas ... there is no ground for supposing that the state knows best either how much investment there should be or what forms it should take. October, 1968

What he's saying is that the matter used for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which Christ Himself instituted as the chalice of His Blood, is demonic and thus Christ gave us something intrinsically evil to consume. Gen Z, hun, you need help.

Some think Chesterton was a conservative - a forgivable error born of ignorance. Some find him witty - bad taste, but taste can be refined. To actually find him profound - that's a defect of intellect which I don't think can be corrected.

Pray for Joe Prado. He is attending MHT Seminary. He does have some training because he attended the Minor Seminary with the CMRI. May God bless him in his vocation.

The only hidden truth in Chesterton's writing is that he was a half-wit. Opaque language masks a dearth of actual thought. Profundity is striking when simply stated. Chesterton charms with the form because there's nothing underneath, and even that is a bastardization of Wilde.
