The Southern Highlands Heterocyclic Conference in Kiama (which is not in the Southern Highlands;-) has been a great success again. Thanks Paul Keller UOW & Alex Bissember University of Tasmania for a great program. Pics from the area (this is a Gordon style meeting, so no photos inside) #ozchem

Very interesting! This again also seems to indicate that the secondary structure and subtle modifications (e.g. methylation) on native mRNA appear to be a significant factor. Right Prof. Nikolai Slavov Slavov Laboratory ? We really need to work harder on understanding real 3D RNA structures.

Fascinating paper. What keeps thrilling me but also scaring me is the relative lack of correlation between in vitro viz in vivo data. Nanodelivery systems all suffer from this. Is the harsh truth that in vitro tests are "not very useful" when it comes to LNP's? Can it change?

BTW... Hornabolti is the Icelandic term;-) After living for two years in the Netherlands, I totally relate to the "uncanny valley" description of Dutch viz English. To me, Dutch was though c.a. halfway between English and German with some weird Spanish & French influences.

Totally awesome. I can drive up to the P3 parking lot (yes it isn't cheap) 45 min before my flight, walk to the terminal, through security and have a barista coffee in peace inside and still have no problems boarding on time. And everyone "knows" how to board a plane too;-)

Proud to join Chris Minns in marking the start of construction of the NSW RNA GMP Pilot facility (my digging skills (far right on pic) from my parents' farm came handy;-) Great outcome from a discussion that started with NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer Hugh Durrant-Whyte in 2019! #mRNA #RNA UNSW RNA Institute

Agree. Basic ideation work is not being funded - this is now the main problem with our pipeline (valley of death and pilot manufacturing are getting better). This has to happen by doubling at least ARC discovery + "DARPA style" funding in medicine and tech for new brave ideas.

First vote in #NSW council elections here in the Wingecarribee Shire (Southern Highlands) since 2016 b/c we had a totally dysfunctional council that went into admin. Some old council members still running & I fear the Liberaterian lot will also get votes b/c no liberal candidates
