Firefighters have extinguished a detached shed fire near 26th St and Beardsley Rd. Crews arrived on scene around 12:30p this afternoon & found a fast moving fire threatening surrounding homes. Firefighters quickly gained fire control & prevented the fire from extending into homes

Firefighters have extinguished an overnight apartment (vacant) fire near 24th St & Van Buren. Crews were dispatched around 2:30am for the reports of smoke coming from an unknown structure. Fire control was quickly achieved, no injuries were reported.
