The budget would cut $30 million from a city program that helps child-care providers, particularly in vulnerable communities. How? Exempting big businesses that make more than $1 million in commercial rent from having to pay a fee voted into law in 2018.

Join SF ECE Advocacy Coalition and educators and families tomorrow (June 6) at 3PM At City Hall to make a public comment protesting these proposals. If we don't #SpeakNow , it will be like we have never spoken.

These cuts threaten a crucial goal: expanding access to childcare and preschool that would improve early childhood outcomes, especially for children in communities of color that are farthest from opportunity.

This is depressing, I never thought we would end up here.

We are highly concerned, we call on Supervisor Rafael Mandelman as our District Supervisor to look into this ASAP and stand with child care. By dollar amount, child care is the largest cut at $50 million.
