#WomensHistoryMonth Yesterday, the Young Women's Empowerment Program at the Office of Safety & Youth Development @nycschools hosted the "Wellness Begins with You" event featuring wellness workshops, business tips, & included remarks by Deputy Executive Director, Nathifa Forde!

As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to an end, we want to take some time to highlight the amazing women on the Young Men's Initiative team, who all play instrumental roles in the ongoing advancement and operations of the programs at YMI. Thank you for all you do!

Last week, YMI visited an elementary school in The Bronx to observe a Sound Partners and QuickReads lesson.🎧📚 We also attended an after school workshop called 'Raising Readers at Home', where families were able to learn how to motivate their young readers! #nycyoungmen

Last week YMI attended the My Sister's Keeper/NYCMBK- NYC My Brother's Keeper Initiative Legislative Breakfast hosted by NYC Public Schools, which focused on the power of communities in solving problems for youth of color at a city-wide scale, and improve life outcomes in all aspects. It was a great event!

This Juneteenth, @themeyerlevinschool in Brooklyn hosted "Wit & Wisdom: A Juneteenth Celebration & Socratic Seminar." Panelists for the seminar included our very own Nathifa Forde, Executive Director. The event also included a visual arts display, student performances and more!

This past June, the NYC Youth & Comm. hosted the 3rd Annual Affirming Fatherhood Conference at John Jay College. It day packed with resources & workshops designed to help fathers & practitioners overcome challenges & promote consistent family engagement. Thank you to all who attended!
